Mayweather finds new opponent

Mayweather finds new opponent- 4 Feb 2010 00:00:00

Floyd Mayweather, the wealthiest boxer on the planet, will now fight WBA super-champion Shane Mosley for his welterweight title on 1st May, after his money-spinning fight with Manny Pacquaio was called off after the two couldn’t agree on drug testing rules.

32 year old Mayweather, who retired after beating Ricky Hatton in 2007, returned to ring last September in a bid to generate a multi –million pound ‘mega-fight’ with world welterweight champion Pacquaio.

However, after the bid to fight Pacquaio collapsed this latest fight will come as a boost to Mayweather who is set to earn a large sum for fighting Mosley in Las Vegas.

Mayweather and Mosley both agreed to Olympic-style drug testing for their bout in May.
