Virgin Active Sport Industry Awards Ambassador and South African swimming legend Natalie du Toit has been named the Laureus World Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability at a gala ceremony in Abu Dhabi.

She is one of only five athletes in the world to have ever competed in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

du Toit is an ambassador to the Virgin Active Sport Industry Awards 2011 in South Africa, which will be hosted by Emperors Palace in the City of Ekurhuleni on February 17th, 2011 and sponsored by Virgin Active South Africa.

Britain's Brawn GP F1 team, new F1 champion Jenson Button, sprinter Usain Bolt, and tennis stars Serena Williams and Kim Clijsters were also winners at the event.
