European Senior Tour comes to SA

European Senior Tour comes to SA- 24 Mar 2010 00:00:00

The European Senior Tour breaks new ground this week with a maiden visit to South Africa where John Bland and the legendary Gary Player will be among the field in the inaugural Berenberg Bank Masters.

Both South Africans have been instrumental in attracting the inaugural tournament, from runs from 26th-28th March, to the Fancourt course.

In addition to Player and Bland, the 80 strong field also includes 18 compatriots, the largest South African line-up at a European Senior Tour event in history.

Fancourt has previously hosted the Presidents Cup in 2003, the inaugural Women's World Cup of Golf in 2005 and the 2005 South African Open Championship, won by home favourite Retief Goosen.
