Atlas Copco enters rally sponsorship

Atlas Copco enters rally sponsorship- 10 May 2010 00:00:00

Atlas Copco has announced that it will replace Nissan as official sponsor of the Sugarbelt 400, round three of the Absa Championship, in KwaZulu-Natal on 21st and 22nd May.

Atlas Copco currently runs a three-car team in the South African national off-road car racing series.

The Sugarbelt 400 event was left without a sponsor when Nissan withdrew its ties from South African motorsport at the end of the 2009 season.

The event is the only national championship off-road race in KwaZulu-Natal and is based at the Beaumont Eston Farmer's Club on the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg.

The race, organised by the Natal Off-Road Motor Club, was voted the best event of the year by competitors in 2009 and the new sponsorship deal comes as a major boost for the Championship.
