aQuelle signs Midmar Mile sponsorship- 12 Jul 2010 00:00:00
Kwazulu Natal based company aQuelle has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with the world's largest open water swimming event - The Midmar Mile.
The swim takes place on 12th and 13th February at the picturesque Midmar Dam near Howick.
Race Director Wayne Riddin said: ‘This will allow us to build up to our 40th anniversary in 2013 and hopefully break the World Record that we already have with the Guinness Book of Records.’
Entries for the aQuelle Midmar Mile will be opened in August and the organisers will replicate the way in which the Comrades Marathon invited competitors – with the intitial online entries open from the 1st August to the 30th September at a reduced fee.
Bottled water company aQuelle also sponsor the Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk 2010 and Karkloof Classic Moutain Bike Challenge 2010.
