Proctor and gamble signs IOC deal- 29 Jul 2010 00:00:00
Consumer products company Procter & Gamble has signed on as a global Olympic sponsor to secure the second multi-million-pound deal this month for the International Olympic Committee.
The 10-year agreement with American-based Procter & Gamble sees the company become the IOC’s 11th global sponsor of the London 2012 Olympics.
This matches the number of sponsors of the 2006 Turin Winter Games and 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.
Dow Chemical was confirmed as a global sponsor earlier this month in a deal that goes through 2020.
The IOC is aiming to bring in a $1bn revenue from sponsorship and revealed that it was close to $900m before the announcement with P&G – which is set to be worth around $100m.
Other global sponsors for the 2012 Games are Coca-Cola, Acer, Atos Origin, GE, McDonald's, Omega, Panasonic, Samsung and Visa.
