Modi wants disciplinary members removed- 2 Aug 2010 00:00:00

The lawyer representing the suspended IPL commissioner Lalit Modi reportedly wants the Board of Control for Cricket in India to remove two members from its disciplinary committee.

The lawyer wants the removals before the board rules on his client.

Mehmood Abdi wants Chirayu Amin and Arun Jaitely removed from the board and the issue was debated during the hearing of the committee.

Abdi hopes the issue will be settled by the next meeting and has also indicated that he wants a retired supreme court judge on the committee.

The BCCI is investigating Modi over his involvement in the bids for the Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab at the Indian Premier League auction in 2008 plus the awarding of two new IPL franchises last month and a TV broadcast deal.
