SuperSport CEO Patel promoted

SuperSport CEO Patel promoted- 16 Aug 2010 00:00:00

Imtiaz Patel, CEO of SuperSport International, has been promoted to Group CEO of MultiChoice South Africa.

Patel will assume his new position on 1st October and will in the interim continue to oversee the daily operations of SuperSport until a successor is confirmed. Patel will be involved in identifying and appointing his successor.

His new position as Group CEO includes overseeing SuperSport’s business, with the new CEO of SuperSport reporting to him.

Patel’s involvement at SuperSport began in November 1999 when he was recruited and appointed as Director of Enterprises and Regulatory Affairs. In 2003, he also assumed responsibility as Head of Production.

He was appointed as CEO of SuperSport South Africa In March 2005, and as CEO of SuperSport International in May 2007.

‘I am humbled by this appointment and grateful to the very capable team running operations at SuperSport, which allows me to accept this wonderful opportunity within the Naspers Group,’ said Patel.

‘I am also very pleased that I will continue to play an active role in the business of SuperSport.’
