MALI APPOINTED HEAD OF GAUTENG CRICKET- 23 Aug 2010 00:00:00
Former ICC President Ray Mali has been appointed the new administrator of Gauteng Cricket’s interim Board, which is set to begin work in September.
Mali has left his position as the head of the Athletics South Africa interim board that was put in place after SASCOC suspended the ASA board over corruption charges.
The Board of CSA appointed Mali following recommendations from the GCB fact finding commission, lead by Justice Langa.
Other members of the interim Board include Anne Vilas, Dan Pehla, Doug Nielson, Mohammed Moosajee, Faisel Salie, Hussain Manack, Mandla Tisani and Patrick Moroney.
One position on Gauteng Cricket’s interim Board has been reserved for the Soweto cricket community and the election of this representative will take place on 11th September.
The interim Board will serve for a period of two years and is set to include the reviewing the constitution and operational structures of the GCB, as well as appointing a chief executive officer of the GCB.
