UBS agrees global F1 deal- 24 Aug 2010 00:00:00
Swiss bank UBS has provided F1 with fresh financial investment having agreed a global sponsorship deal, due to be launched at next month's Singapore GP.
UBS conducted a detailed evaluation of worldwide sponsorship opportunities and decided that F1 offered it the best opportunity to fulfill its aim for global reach and brand awareness.
The long-term partnership will provide the bank with branding and hospitality opportunities for a sport that attracts over half a billion viewers.
Oswald Grübel, UBS Group Chief Executive said of the deal: ‘Our new partnership with one of the largest and most popular sporting organisations in the world will fulfill all these criteria, and it constitutes a key element of our newly launched branding activities. The global reach of F1 complements the many local activities we support.’
Formula One has 19 races in 18 countries across four continents this season. The Singapore Grand Prix is on 26th September will be the 15th round of the championship.
