PROTEAS TO AID FLOOD VICTIMS WITH MATCH- 26 Aug 2010 00:00:00

Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Pakistan Cricket Board have agreed to play an extra T20 International match at the start of the Proteas’ tour to the United Arab Emirates – in a bid to raise funds for the victims of the floods disaster in Pakistan.

The match will now become the first match of the tour - which now consists of two Pro20 Internationals, five One-Day Internationals and two Test matches.

The tour is set to be split between the two neutral venues of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

CSA CEO Gerald Majola commented: ‘This has been a dreadful tragedy and our hearts go out to the people of Pakistan.’

‘Social responsibility plays an important role in the brotherhood of sport that brings nations together from across the world. This is only a small contribution but we hope it will play some part in alleviating the suffering of the Pakistani people,’ he added.
