MTN SIGNS BLOEMFONTEIN CELTICS DEAL- 27 Aug 2010 00:00:00

Mobile phone company MTN has signed a four-year deal as the main sponsor of Bloemfontein Celtic.

MTN has agreed a R130m sponsorship deal for the next four seasons. – with the team receiving just over R30m per season.

Bloemfontein Celtic clinched the deal with MTN after the management of the club asked Vodacom to terminate its contract.

The deal with MTN is a significant improvement on the Vodacom agreement which was R12m per season.

Vodacom had been the sponsor of Celtic for six years but this development means that it now only sponsors Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Premiership.

The new sponsorship for Bloemfontein Celtic will start in October with an official announcement to be made shortly.
