Boks fans to reunite for World Cup- 13 Jun 2011 00:00:00

Following the successful launch of the Springbok Fans Unite 2011 campaign on 1st June 2011, SA Rugby and 34Sport has announced the first members-only competition, exclusive to fans who have united behind the Boks.

The theme of the competition is ‘Reunite in New Zealand’ and it offers fans the opportunity to meet up with an old friend to watch the Boks in action in New Zealand later this year.

Sarah Mundy, SA rugby brand manager, said: ‘With Springbok supporters in just about every corner of the world, this competition extends the spirit of the Springbok Fans Unite 2011 campaign beyond the borders of South Africa’.

Springbok fans who have pledged their support for the Boks can enter the competition by simply submitting the details of the friend they would like to be reunited with online at unite2011.co.za or at facebook/springboks.

Grant Hillary, MD 34Sport, added: ‘Using ground-breaking technology, fans can then watch a video of what their trip to New Zealand could look like – complete with personalised footage’.

‘This unique feature was such a hit among fans that the competition received a staggering 2200 entries in the first few days’.

Fans can enter as many times as they like, with as many friends as they like, growing the Springbok fan base in the process, with the winner to be announced on 1st August 2011.

The campaign was promoted through Facebook ads, LED billboards at Cape Town and Johannesburg International Airports, on leading news channels, via Superbru and in all SA Rugby’s communication channels.

The technology used in the personalised video feature is powered by Ince Intergrated Communications.
