SA tennis governing body gets new identity

SA tennis governing body gets new identity- 23 Mar 2012 00:00:00

The official controlling body of tennis in South Africa, previously known as the South African Tennis Association, has changed its name to Tennis South Africa (TSA) with immediate effect.

Wire Zondi, TSA's president, said: ‘To conform to worldwide trends and after much discussion, deliberation and investigation, the TSA Board decided on the name change.’

‘We found we were continuously being referred to as Tennis South Africa, both locally and internationally, so it made sense for us to make the change.’

TSA has already made changes to its executives on the board, with Zondi adding: ‘I am a new President, we have a new Board and with the new name we are ready to face the challenges and give the game of tennis new life in our country.’

TSA also unveiled its new logo, designed to highlight the energy, power and movement of a tennis serve.
