MTB trail & BMX track opens to public- 11 Apr 2012 00:00:00

Organizers of the Wines2Whales, in partnership with PPA, are set to officially open the Thandi/Paul Cluver Mountain Bike Trail and BMX Track on Sunday, 15th April 2012.

According to Johan Kriegler, founder of the W2W Mountain Bike Routes, the promotion of sport together with community and youth development forms an integral part of the W2W philosophy.

Kriegler said: ‘Since its inception in 2009 W2W has worked closely with PPA with regard to route building and the extension of public mountain bike trails. We also work closely with Rotary and Round Table Clubs as well as schools to enhance community and youth development.’

‘In 2011 we partnered with PPA to open the Schapenberg MTB Trail which since its launch has attracted the attention of many keen mountain bikers.  We are therefore very excited to be opening the Thandi/Paul Cluver MTB Trail and BMX Track.’

‘The trails were built by Cape Trails, a youth development SMME who have been contracted on a full time basis by W2W to build and maintain mountain bike trails.’

‘We would like to invite all keen mountain bikers to join us at the launch this coming Sunday.’
