Williams F1 announces new deals

Williams F1 announces new deals- 10 May 2012 00:00:00

The Williams Formula One team has announced two new sponsorship deals relating to Finnish test and reserve driver Valterri Bottas. Finnish company Wihuri, a global industry and trade conglomerate, and welding equipment manufacturer Kempii have both joined the British team's roster of partners.

Wihuri's logos will feature on the rear wing endplates of the team's cars as well as on the belt and helmet of Bottas, who is driving in several Friday practice sessions for the team this year.

Kempii, meanwhile, will have the same position on the car and feature on Bottas' belts.

Kempii has supported Bottas since 2008 and Wihuri since 2006, so the deals are viewed as a natural progression. The highly-rated Bottas has been tipped as a potential race driver for the team in the future.

Williams' current pairing of Bruno Senna and Pastor Maldonado have scored an encouraging 18 points in the opening four Grands Prix of the season, leaving the team seventh in the constructors' championship.
