The South African Football Association will give former Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane a R5m golden handshake, according to a report in The New Age website, after SAFA officially terminated Mosimane’s four-year contract worth a reported R1m a month on Monday night.

Mosimane was left with two years on his contract worth a balance of about R24m.

Meanwhile, SAFA vice-president Mwelo Nonkonyana has revealed that the vacant Bafana head coach’s role will be officially advertised, and potentially finalised by August.

Assistant coach Steve Komphela will take over the role on an interim basis.
