Man United confirms SA pre-season tour dates- 14 Jun 2012 00:00:00

Manchester United has confirmed they will play two pre-season warm-up games in South Africa, against AmaZulu and Ajax Cape Town next month, after officials confirmed that the 19-time English Premier League champions will play at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on 18th July and the Cape Town Stadium on 21st July.

Sport24 reports that the club's director of communications Philip Townsend said United would use the tour to blood new players for the season ahead.

‘We use these tours to prepare players for the arduous season ahead and to introduce new players to the team and management.’

‘It's also an opportunity for our fans to witness the team playing first hand,’ said Townsend.

United visited South Africa in 2006 and 2008, with the Red Devils going on to win the English Premier League the following season on both occasions.

Tickets for the games will be priced at between R150 to R350 and will be available from Computicket from 8am Monday.

Manchester United were beaten by local rivals Manchester City for the league title in the last minute of the final game of the season.
