Arsenal FC is set to play Nigeria in a pre-season friendly on 5th August, for what will be the Premier League side’s first trip to Africa since they visited South Africa in 1993.

The Gunners’ will face the Nigerians at the National Stadium in the capital, Abuja.

Arsenal revealed the match will be the last of four pre-season friendlies on a tour of Asia and Africa which also includes matches in Malaysia and China.

Arsene Wenger's team plays a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur on 24th July, English Premier League champions Manchester City in Beijing on 27th July and Kitchee FC in Hong Kong two days later.
