Wanderers partners with local talent

The Bidvest Wanderers Stadium has partnered with local talents Joey Rasdien and DJ Chrizz Beatz as the voice and the sound of the Bullring.

Comedian, cricket fanatic and ultimate sports fan, Joey Rasdien, will be adding a unique flavour and resemble the spectator voice.

The Bidvest Wanderers Stadium has over the past few years prioritised the in-stadium experience and consumer preferences identified through sound research, resulting in fans voting the Bullring Experience as one “not to be missed” in a 2016 stadium experience survey conducted by Nielsen Sports.

Chief Executive, Greg Fredericks, sees this as an extension of the research-focussed approach that has driven consumer-related decision making. “We are dedicated to hearing what the fans say. When combining both the sport and lifestyle activities that Gauteng cricket fans attend, cricket is competing with a wide range of options with similar ratings. The challenge that we face is to make the cricket offering the most appealing, compelling and convenient. Cricket is currently ranked closely fourth with Comedy Shows, Live Local Music and Food festivals currently ranking as favourites (Nielsen Sports, SponsorLink, 2016/17),” Fredericks commented.

“On any given weekend, there are about 30 live events that the Johannesburg public can choose from – we are spoiled for choice. Like any other business, we need to be constantly evolving. Partnering with Joey (Rasdien) and DJ Chrizz Beatz is thus a strategic move for us to ensure that the Bullring experience stays at the forefront of the consumer mind when selecting their entertainment and where to spend their disposable income.”
