A qualified Chartered Marketer, Iona Maclean launched her marketing career as creative director of DP Productions in 1995. She became the Head of Marketing for RMB International and subsequently, the Marketing Manager at Momentum Wealth and RMB Investment services where she was responsible for establishing their flagship London-based event, Think Tank that showcases

investment views and opinions of global fund managers. In 2008, Iona joined Discovery as the Head of Marketing for Discovery Life and Discovery Invest and proved her mettle in launching the acclaimed Discovery Leadership Summit. She successfully steered Discovery Invest to become the top performer award for Marketing Communication (Brand) and Product Innovation (2011, 2012).

Discovery Invest was voted number one for Marketing Strategy in PwC’s Biannual Strategic and Emerging Issues in South African Insurance Survey 2012. In 2013, Iona stepped into her current role as Head of Sponsorships and Experiential Marketing at Discovery.
